SAN FRANCISCO - Andrew Luck threw for 164 yards and ran for a 6-yard touchdown for the first time while facing his former college coach, Jim Harbaugh, and the Indianapolis Colts beat the San Francisco 49ers 27-7 on Sunday .
Trent Richardson scored a touchdown from 1 yard on his first carry in his debut for the Colts after being acquired Wednesday from the Cleveland Browns. He was drafted two spots down Luck, third overall last year.
Ahmad Bradshaw added a 1-yard touchdown rushing in the final minutes, and Adam Vinatieri kicked a pair of field goals before wandering into a 51-yard attempt early in the fourth period.
It was the first home loss to Colin Kaepernick at Candlestick Park as a starter.
There were few bright spots for Kaepernick in San Francisco struggling to establish an air attack and tight end Vernon Davis sidelined by an injured hamstring.
